Dodo Bows is a different brand with a social sense that arises from the story of Adriana María Villalta Ticas, who is detected on the third day of birth a congenital disease called Tetralogía de Fallot. Disease that is formed from the 8 weeks of gestation in the womb of the mother, it is unknown where it comes from and occurs in one of every 1,000 children.

When Adriana's diagnosis is received, her parents began to investigate and talk to doctors, who suggest an operation, unfortunately it is a surgical process that couldn’t been done in the country with high probability of success, so it was necessary to look for other places, under the notion that they are excessively expensive operations, above 100 thousand dollars.

 

Thats whe they decide to create a way to support other children suffering from heart problems and to cover in some way the medical expenses of the baby.

 

 

The Pepper Challenge

 

Create an attractive name, easy to remember in order to raise awareness about the cause. Then we took the name "Dodo" to create an identity and humanize the brand, since his brothers affectionately call Adri, Dodo Dodo.

 

This is how it was born to be a brand with a social responsibility and at the same time, an additional family income that helped cover the very high medical expenses.
 

The Pepper Solution

 

With the idea that Dodo was more than a commercial brand, it was thought to connect with moms who want to see their pretty daughters like Adri, wearing beautiful and unique hair accessories. A logo was created using the Doodle style creating something quick freehanded. As a mother with a dream and that dream was to see her daughter always healthy.

 

The logo ends with a “chonga” tied to a thread of hair, at the same time it is accompanied by a slogan with minimalist typography, making a balance between the logo and the slogan. "Bows" is use because its translation means “chongas”.Chongas for a cause - "Bows for a cause. " Black letters with white backgrounds were used to give it a trendy touch and be able to use it in recycled cardboard packaging.

 

The profits were used for medical expenses and also to support the "Healthy My Heart" foundation that is one hundred percent committed to the cause and also supports other children born with congenital heart disease.
